This is a lost wax ring. My mother studied in Berkley to learn this technic back in the late 60's. This is one of the results.
 There is an ounce of oldworked gold in there. The stone looks like amber at first glance, but when you are holding it you feel the weight of a rock. It measures one and a half inches from tip to tip, with the stone at three quarters of an inch long. When Mom wore the ring it would make the most beautiful noise, it seemed she could make it sing. I hope you enjoy looking at this little piece of history.  |
