New! Cubism Messenger Bag Design Challenge!
What comes to mind when you hear the name Pablo Picasso? That’s right, it’s time to break it down, Cubism-style! For the first time ever, we are hosting a Messenger Bag Design Challenge! We want you to create an original design for the flap of the bag in the style of Cubism.
For this challenge, we are defining Cubism as an art style in which instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often, the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetra

New! 8-Bit deviantWEAR Design Challenge!
8-Bit graphics are like the classic cars of the computer graphics world. Sure, they don’t have Bluetooth, power seats, or fancy extras, but they’re old and they sure look cool! That’s why for our newest Design Challenge, the 8-Bit Hoodie Design Challenge, we’re asking you to design a hoodie in an 8-Bit graphic style. Submit a design that would drop the jaw of any 1980s programmer, get your friends to vote, and you could win 10 of your hoodies and $1,500 CASH! A pixilated world awaits; get your squares together and submit your design by April 6, 2012!

Anthropology of Self
Explore your world as it is and all the ways it might have been
Welcome to the launch contest of Anthropology-of-Self (https://www.deviantart.com/anthropology-of-self). This group's goal is to craft prompts and contests that help you investigate your world as it truly is and in all the ways it could have been. We hope to create a place where fiction, nonfiction and poetry can all mingle happily together while creating weird, wonderful stories.
For this contest, we ask you to go back to your beginning moments as a writer, that first time you chose to place a pen to paper and change the world around you. Your mission is simple:

Creature Feature Winners!
Even though often judges find themselves in a tough spot when the actual judging of a contest comes around, I can honestly say that this one was tougher than most contests I've had the honor of sitting on the panel. This time, it was a close race, that after the first round of judging still left everything open.
Please take a look at the entries - I'm pretty sure you'll be able to see what I mean :D
Anyhow, enough with the babbling and on to announcing our winners!
